best sites to bet on rugby

Posted by Trix @ 12:00 AM, Tuesday Jan 20th, 2009

An increasingly popular sport with punters is Rugby and is slowly but surely catching up with football in terms of popularity and betting volumes. If you will Google "rugby betting sites", you will be greeted with an exhaustive list of websites, some dodgy and shabby, while others are well designed. One good website is "http://www.sportingbet.com.au" which is fully licensed and offers a secure and fun way that you can use to add an edge to your rugby game.

BET NOW

There are also many other online betting sites that you can utilize to put your money on your favourite rugby team. These sites include the Australian Exchange listed "http://www.centerbet.com/rugby-union-betting". This massive bookmaker has odds on all major competitions, which include the Rugby World Cup, Tri Nations, and English Guinness Premiership.

The above mentioned are predominately Australia based bookmakers. If you move away from that, you will find more reputable bookmakers, especially in the United Kingdom. These include "http://www.bet365.com" which is good for Australians, as it allows you to bet in the Aussie dollar, or any other currency for that matter, and similar to sportinbet, bet365 also offers a free signup bonus.

Another widely used and popular site is "http://paddypower.com" which is generally similar, and offers odds on major rugby competitions.

If you believe in tradition and proven history, William Hill *http://dmg2.com) is a long established British bookmaker that has been around for a long period of time, and enjoys a solid reputation with English punters.

Those who are jittery about placing bets online, or have security concerns, will find Coral Eurobet (http://www.coral.co.uk) reassuring. It prides itself as a safe and secure online site with excellent customer service. Its webpage is also easy to navigate, and offers online gambling (e.g. poker) in addition to its mainstream sports betting services.

Understandably, there are some out there who don’t approve of bookies, or do not take the odds that are being. Bet Fair (http://www.qksrv.net) offers person to person rugby union betting, that allows you to take or make your own odds.

New Blood – Rugby Bets Online

Posted by Trix @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Jan 15th, 2009

Betting on Rugby – It’s not always that a fresh start is good, these days, both football and rugby clubs who are cash strapped, are unable or unwilling to pay hefty transfer payments for star players, but yet faced with injured players, or in the search for better players, more often than not, clubs these days are taking in new blood to fill the ranks.

For Perpignan, Dan Carter lived up to the hype surrounding him, by helping his club win in a victory against Leicester to the score of 26-20 in the European Cup.

Carter scored a total of 16 points, and kicking four out of the six penalties while denying the impressive Gerrine Britz of his many tries and attacks. Leicester put up a good right, with Tom Croft and Scott Hamilton scoring two tries and Toby Flood achieving two penalties and two conversions.

As of now, Perpignan is at third place with nine points and they are only slightly on course to qualify. As for Leicester, they remain at second place in Pool 3.

As for Carter, despite a lack of preparation, he seems to gel well with the rest of the team, and managed to beat Leicester, which is a very good team. This, in itself, is a commendable achievement both for Carter and Perpignan.

Other games on the same day saw other English clubs, Wasps and Bath victorious over the Scottish in Edinburgh and Glasgow. If the Wasps keeps it up, they will probably qualify from Pool 2, given their win of 19-11 over Edinburgh. This win places Wasps three points away of Leinster.

Regardless, the focus is on Carter and his performance, and he is certainly one to look out for with potential aplenty ahead.

Centrebet.com.au – Preimer League

Posted by Trix @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Jan 8th, 2009

www.centrebet.com.au – As the Premier League game is advancing to a more exciting phrase, the intensity of winning is also getting stronger. It is now really difficult to predict if the hot favorite team is walking away as the winner at the end of the game. This was clearly illustrated in the match held between Liverpool and Hull City.

BET NOW

Even before the game with Hull City began, Liverpool’s manager, Rafael Benitez, predicted that his team stands a good chance in walking away as the eventual champion of this year’s Premier League. This is one match that will teach Rafael Benitez to not undermine his opponents.

Paul McShane took the opening goal for this match and this clearly came as a surprise for all. Not too long after which, Jamie Carragher came along with the second goal leaving the Liverpool players and fans in a tense mood. Perhaps it was Liverpool’s over confidence that lead them to allow a loss of two goals costing them 2 points in total.

The two goals by Liverpool, which created the draw, were from Steven Gerrard. He closed the gap within 10 minutes, leading this game to a draw. Now, the only challenge faced by Liverpool is the game between Chelsea and Westham, in a sense, if Chelsea walks away as the winner of its game, Liverpool lose its position.

For a moment, many thought that Hull City could walk away emerging as the winner for this match. It would have been a predictable game if not for Liverpool’s over confidence that cost them a final score of 2 – 2.

iasbet.com.au review

Firstl impression of www.iasbet.com is the clustered images. It appears to pack many pictures and promotions into one page making it a little confusing for users.

BET NOW

But what really caught my eye is the LIVE SOCCER BETTING. It doesn’t really matter which part of the world you are currently at, you can bet on the various soccer games ranging from the English Premiership, to the Champions League betting, and the Asian Handicap. It provides live footage of the game and you can bet on any team that you deem may win! Even with the lack of knowledge of certain teams around the world, by viewing their skills ‘live’, you can tell where your money should be placed at.

Even the horse racing games have gone international. There are the Singapore and Hong Kong horse racing games. All of which provides you information on the exact date of the race.
Iasbet is big on the ‘LIVE’ experience. Instead of merely throwing in articles and opinions, there is a ‘LIVE’ chat available for its users to gain most current information on the games. This is extremely useful as it provides ‘real’ time information. Be sure to ask specific information, the more you ask, they more you get.

However, the down side is, for busy users who enjoy reading and picking up information as and when you please, the ‘LIVE’ chat may not be a draw for you. Thus, maybe the website should still include sport articles and opinions.

Iasbet – Australian Football

Posted by Trix @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Jan 1st, 2009

www.iasbet.com - I came to Australia watching Footy like a man from Mars. Where I come from, the only football I watch is the English, 11men version. Hence, watching this 18men a side playing a cross between American and English football was interesting to say the least, and wildly exciting most of the time.

BET NOW

I’ve come to realize a few interesting facts about Australian football or footy. Apparently it is the most popular sport in Australia, and is only played professionally here. The embodiment of the game is the Australian Football League, the equivalent of the English Premier League.

Unlike many other forms of football, there are no offside rules, and players from both teams are allowed to place themselves anywhere in the playing field (which interestingly, is oval in shape). A goal is scored when the ball is shot through the goal posts by the attacking team, although the ball must not be touched by any of the defending team. An interesting variation from the typical goal is a “behind”. A behind is scored when the football passes through between the goal post and a behind post at any height. A goal gives 6 points, while a behind gives 1 point.

Today, there are over 600,000 registered players, and now transcends to more than 30 countries around the world. I have since became a recent fan of Footy, favouring international matches when it’s off season. But the variations from familiar Australian rules to international rules still confound me is frustrating.

In my opinion, footy is Australian, and heck, they should be playing our game, our way!
