Australian Rugby Betting – Wallabies Star
Category: Rugby
Wallabies star forward and current lynch pin Ben Robinson has vowed to step up his efforts for the Wallabies in 2009 after a bumper 2008 which saw him cement a regular spot for the green and gold.
The latest in a line of line Wallaby stars, Robinson bloomed under New Coach Robbie Deans who has, with the help of new recruits such a Robinson, turned the Wallaby forward pack into one of the most highly rated in the world – particularly after their success in Europe last year.
Robinson is part of a new wave, or breed, of big, athletic forwards that Australia has a knack of producing at the right times.
Fellow prop Ben Alexander stunned the Rugby world when he debuted against France in June last year having never played an entire first class match – he had only played a handful of games off the bench for Super 14 team the ACT Brumbies.
Alexander was given the huge task of filling in for Robinson in the rare matches he was rested, the hulking prop starting in an impressive twelve out of fourteen matches since his debut.
Robinson is also super eager to get back into the rigours and fast pace of the Super Fourteens as his team, the New South Wales Waratahs look to break an ongoing hoodoo by capturing the trophy over arch rivals the Crusaders.
He will have to play a leading role up front for the Waratahs this year for the first time as injured prop and club stalwart Matt Dunning will most likely remain on the sidelines for the rest of the season.
