Betting on Rugby – It’s not always that a fresh start is good, these days, both football and rugby clubs who are cash strapped, are unable or unwilling to pay hefty transfer payments for star players, but yet faced with injured players, or in the search for better players, more often than not, clubs these days are taking in new blood to fill the ranks.

For Perpignan, Dan Carter lived up to the hype surrounding him, by helping his club win in a victory against Leicester to the score of 26-20 in the European Cup.

Carter scored a total of 16 points, and kicking four out of the six penalties while denying the impressive Gerrine Britz of his many tries and attacks. Leicester put up a good right, with Tom Croft and Scott Hamilton scoring two tries and Toby Flood achieving two penalties and two conversions.

As of now, Perpignan is at third place with nine points and they are only slightly on course to qualify. As for Leicester, they remain at second place in Pool 3.

As for Carter, despite a lack of preparation, he seems to gel well with the rest of the team, and managed to beat Leicester, which is a very good team. This, in itself, is a commendable achievement both for Carter and Perpignan.

Other games on the same day saw other English clubs, Wasps and Bath victorious over the Scottish in Edinburgh and Glasgow. If the Wasps keeps it up, they will probably qualify from Pool 2, given their win of 19-11 over Edinburgh. This win places Wasps three points away of Leinster.

Regardless, the focus is on Carter and his performance, and he is certainly one to look out for with potential aplenty ahead.
